Music is Life
Music has always been a big part of my life. It is inspirational, soothing, and just changes people’s moods throughout the day. Could you imagine a life without music? I can safely say that on an average week I listen to music more than I don’t listen to music. It would affect so many things in the world. Movies would be different without music, car rides would be different, and just hanging out would be all changed by the fact that there is no music. Music play a big part in my everyday mood. When I listen to hard rock and heavy hip hop, I get super pumped up. If I listen to slow rock music and some slow pop music, then I will get sad or a little gloomy. If I listen to country music then I just want to have a good time and hangout with my friends. As you can see, music impacts my everyday life very heavily. I mostly find myself listening to rock music or rap music. I don’t know what it is about them but they really lighten up my mood when I listen to them. I will sit on my bed and put on Motely Crue, Buckcherry, Notorious B.I.G, or Snoop Dogg and just let the music run its course and fill me with joy. Sometimes, if I am feeling down I will put on some songs that make me feel sad like Through the Rain by Cinderella, Prisoners in Paradise by Europe, or Shimmer by Fuel. I feel like people do not understand how much of an impact music has on their lies. Name one person that does not like music. Music is everywhere. Since I started my blog about the decades of music, I have come across so many new bands and genres of music and I am really starting to get into them. Music is everything.
The
biggest genre of the early 2000s was probably R and B and Hip Hop. With these groups,
they were mostly just one person and had people play in the background or had
recorded tracks When they performed. So instead of say Motley Crue where they
had four main people. “Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Tommy Lee” they would
have one person, for example Big Sean or Lil Wayne. Some of the other big artists
from these genres are Lil John, Beyoncé, Flow Rida, and Alicia Keys. They
appealed to more of the younger crowd. I remember when I was in middle school
everyone loved that song Sexy Can I by Ray Jay. Parents were concerned about
this type of music because a lot of it as about sex, drugs and alcohol and they
did not want it to affect their kids in a negative way. Some of the big songs
in this genre were Low by Flow Rida, Crazy in Love by Alicia Keys, Single
ladies by Beyoncé, and Yeah by Lil John. Even though I was not the biggest fan
of this genre, it was still very popular and really changed the sound of music
today.
